The vivo V9 launched with an official price of Php 17,990. On August 1, 2018, it received a major price cut and was spotted on sale for Php 14,999.

The vivo V9 has a dual rear camera setup with a 16MP primary and 5MP secondary sensor for bokeh effects, simulating apertures from f/16 to f/0.95. Its main highlight is the 24MP front camera with AI Face Beauty, which detects gender, age, skin tone, and lighting to enhance selfies. It also features AR Stickers and AI Selfie Lighting.

Both phones had similar notch designs. The V9 had a slightly larger 6.3-inch screen and dual rear cameras for bokeh, while the OPPO F7 had a single 16MP rear camera with a wider f/1.8 aperture. The F7 used a more advanced MediaTek Helio P60 chipset, while the V9 used a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626. The F7 also offered a variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, which the V9 did not have.
