Smart *767 SOS Lends Php4 Emergency Load

Smart *767 SOS Lends Php4 Emergency Load

This is probably the most useful (and daring) prepaid SMS promo I’ve seen in ages (saw the ad on PhilStar today). Smart SOS allows you to have a 4-peso emergency load when you run out of one.

All you need to do is dial *767 (SOS) on your Smart phone and you get 3 free SMS and 1-peso call load for a total of Php4 credit.

This amount will be deducted by Smart on your next auto-load. This will come very useful when you don’t have any load and you don’t have any means to top up your account.

It’s a bit of risky move for Smart especially for people who often switch prepaid SIM cards (those who use the free load of a new SIM and just throw it away afterwards) but I don’t think it’s such a huge risk from the end of the telco compared to the value-added service it offers. This is just a promo though and will last until November 16.

I’m on a Smart post-paid plan but I really think this is a good move on the part of Smart. They really have to think of their customers concerns and challenges.

  2. Globe should follow through.

  3. Jill says:

Nice move, Smart. About time you give back to the people those vanishing loads, which I have experienced three times before. Or the speed of your plug-it’s that had us spend 30-minutes worth of internet usage just to open our e-mails.

  4. Useful for smart subscribers who can’t find loading station to top-up their account during late night. I already shared this post to my friends.

Sorry Smart I am a loyal Sun subscriber already.

its good promo sana for good na at sumabay na yung ibang network.. very useful…!!

  7. Lezuric says:

This should be a permanent promo from smart since this will be a very big help for emergency cases..

  8. IC DeaDPiPoL says:

actually I’d prefer that Smart maintain something like a banking system where you can allot your current loads into a non-expiring account that lets you withdraw during emergency times.

    nice move by smart,

  10. cindy says:

nice for consumers like us to have that kind of give-away promo (although not totally free since it will be deducted upon your next load) keep making such promo!

  11. sana lang maging permanent service na to ng smart

  12. kiota says:

Not always available, I tried it but not reliable, hindi maasahan specially pag SOS.

  13. derick says:

    @IC DeaDPiPoL

they have that for ages. smart money. and recently, they have introduced smart load wallet.

  14. Winziph says:

sana si globe meron ding ganito.

  15. Marvin says:

Smart is a ripoff. I was a Smartbro user but they ate up my load on surfing by charging me Php40 per hour instead of Php20. I asked them for a log of usage and an explanation as to what happened, they asked me to surf for an hour to “monitor” my connection. Then they sent me a list of URLs which I didn’t visit during the so-called 1-hour monitoring which they also said they’ll be reversing because they’re the ones who requested it.

My question was this: Why did I get charged Php40 per hour instead of the advertised Php20 per hour using Smartbro Prepaid and this is what they replied to me with. Doesn’t really make sense monitoring me NOW for a complaint about BEFORE.

As confirmed by our support group, there were no irregular charges noted when they monitored your browsing transactions. It has also been determined that previous charges incurred are considered to be valid and billable. Unfortunately, we could not provide you with data logs since these are not available for prepaid accounts. Instead, we have provided you with the sample URLs that you accessed.

Please note that Smart ensures the accuracy of deductions from prepaid, as well as postpaid accounts. As such, no deductions will be made if no valid transaction takes place.

We hope the given information proves useful. Should you have further queries or concerns, Mr. Quinsaat, please feel free to email us again.

  16. Wow. Globe should really follow this one.

  17. marc says:

  18. Jhay says:

I’m sure Globe would come up with a similar offer. And SUN too, but theirs would offer a lot more. :P

  19. bestgee says:

haha! matagal na tong promo na to ee’ i was told by my friend nung mawalan aku ng extra balance for my registered unlitext few months back. ndi ku alam kung baket ngaun lang inadvertise yang promo ng smart SOS. ^O^

  20. Paul says:

payback to those vanishing load??? hehehe its about time globe do the same too…tsk

  21. pril says:

shoot! tried the service but a text from smart says: unable to process transaction, your mobile number does not exist.

anyone?why is that so? i have this number since 2008, if my memory is right.

  22. Herce says:

    Smart move, lol :D

  23. razorous says:

I think this is a must -move if you may.

Pag naubusan kasi ako ng prepaid load, isnt it really ridiculous na hindi ka pwede magload from my Smart Money if you don’t have a minimum balance of 1 peso??? Stupid really!

But I think this should fix it now. Sana permanent na to…

  24. vhangell says:

  25. bugs says:

    matagal na to…

  26. Lito F. says:

New promo from Smart, but still a cheap promo. What is 4 credits or 4 pesos compared to all those vanishing loads from prepaid subscribers. I was a Smart prepaid user but switched to Globe and Sun.

  27. Ron says:

Wow, havent heard of this till today, thanks Yuga, i’ve made a post linking back to this article..

    Thanks again.:)

  28. georgia says:

its a permanent service na pala ngayon

  29. jenny says:

for me di din ok yan loan a load ng smart eh… kz, in the first place dapat yun mga promo nila sa call, automatic na pde mong gamitin, pag nagpaload ka, ex. smarttxt60.. No need to top-up a 1 peso para magamit mo, at direct dialling na sana, dadaan pa sa *6402, compare sa globe and sun automatic dial na.
