Epson Philippines introduced several high-end models of their projectors yesterday. Of the lot, there were two projectors that caught my interest.
First one is this ultra-short throw projector (EB-450Wi) specifically made for classroom-type environments.

The Epson EB-450Wi projector is mounted from the ceiling and projects the image to a wall, whiteboard, or almost any surface and can get as close as just 2.8 centimeters away from the wall (can project a 60-inch image at 7.6cm away) with a maximum brightness of 2,500 lumens.
The set also comes with a wireless digital infrared pen so you can actually write in the projected image. Comes with a 10-watt integrated speakers and connects via VGA, USB, LAN or wireless USB. Suggested retail price is Php106,900 in stores.

This other one (EH-TW4500) is mainly used as a home theater projector with a contrast ratio of 200,000:1 (highest in the world for a projector) and capable of doing a full HD 1080p. The unit can project a screen image as large as 300 inches (9 meters) with a brightness power of just 1,600 lumens.
To make the projected videos look better, Epson included “refined frame interpolation” which inserts new frames in between existing frames to suppress blurs and make it smoother and sharper. Suggested retail price for the EH-TW4500 is Php156,000 — sounds pretty expensive but for a 300-inch full HD theater experience, I think it’s worth it.

not sure if 100k plus projector can be called for home used.. but hey.. if you have the money why not! :)
