Aside from the audio and other lifestyle products that DIZO launched, here’s a budget smartwatch to look out for from realme’s sub-brand company. The DIZO Watch 2 is perfect for people who do not want to spend a lot of money on fitness trackers.
At first glance it may seem like the realme Watch 2, but it isn’t. It has this rectangular frame that is made of Zinc alloy which makes it unique compared to other budget smartwatches that have a plastic frame.
Moreover, the build quality and finish are pretty good and make the watch look more premium. Just because it’s made of Zinc alloy it’s a bit heavy weighing over 50 grams but it’s not that bothersome.
We get a single button on the right that works as the power trigger and also serves as a Home button. It also has a removable 22mm silicone strap which feels comfortable around the wrist.
It’s also noteworthy that the watch is 5ATM water resistant so it means you can take it for a swim in up to 50 meters deep water.
For display, what you get is a 1.69-inch TFT-LCD touchscreen color display protected with 2.5D glass that blends nicely into the metallic rim. For the touch response, it’s smooth enough which we like. This isn’t an always-on display, and the raise to wake gesture is slow to respond.
The quality of the screen is good enough. It has five levels of brightness and level three is bright enough when indoors. When outdoors under direct sunlight, you need to bump it up to level four or five. Colors are not that punchy, but it’s good enough if you’re not that picky.
The watch UI is pretty straightforward and if you have used a realme smartwatch before, it is pretty much the same. Swipe down for notifications, swipe up for apps library, swipe right for access to quick settings and swipe left to see a handful of widgets like daily activity progress, heart rate, sleep info, weather updates, music playback etc.
You can also opt for either a grid of small icons or a list for all the functions of the watch in the app drawer.
For its features, there are 15 different fitness modes, from the usual walking, running, cycling, swimming, yoga, elliptical, mountaineering to some sports like basketball, badminton, football and a few more.
Users can also maximize the built-in features such as heart rate tracking, its SPO2 monitor that determines the level of oxygen in the blood, hydrate or drink water reminders, and sleep cycle tracking. Here you also get the usual set of features like music controls, remote camera shutter, and call alerts. You can also opt for notifications from various apps on your phone, and the messages are perfectly legible on the watch’s decent-sized screen.
Also if you’re a female user, there’s female health, wherein you can track your menstrual cycle.
To set up the watch you need to install the DIZO app on your smartphone (available both for iOS and Android) and take note that the DIZO Watch 2 doesn’t have built-in GPS.
Moving on to the battery, the company claims that the DIZO Watch 2 can last for 10 days on a full charge. If you want to save your battery, there’s a power-saving mode that will display time and battery status only and nothing else.
DIZO Watch 2 is priced at PHP 1,999USD 34INR 2,888EUR 32CNY 248 and it’s safe to say that this watch is a good entry-level fitness watch for those looking for basic features.
