0:00What up guys? Miguel here from Eigate
0:02and we are here in another Samsung
0:04unpacked event and it’s July 9 by the
0:08time you guys are watching this video.
0:10In this video I am checking out the
0:12Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 along with the
0:15Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE which is
0:19launching alongside these two new
0:22flippable display smartphones. Um, quick
0:26highlights. They run on Android 16 with
0:291 UI 8 on top and that’s pretty sick.
0:34We’ll be checking them all out briefly,
0:36so stay tuned.

0:44The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 refineses
0:47last year’s Z Flip 6 formula in all the
0:50right ways. It’s Samsung’s slimmest flip
0:52ever, measuring just 13.7 mm thick when
0:56folded and 6.5 mm when open. It features
0:59a sleek profile that easily slips into a
1:02pocket or clutch bag with ease. It
1:04weighs no more than 188 g, but its
1:08overall build quality still feels solid
1:10and premium. We get Gorilla Glass Victus
1:122 protection for the cover display and
1:14rear panel, a redesigned hinge that
1:17feels smoother and more durable than any
1:19of the past iterations, and an aluminum
1:22frame for that nice metallic feel when
1:24in hand. Ingress protection remains the
1:26same as last year’s model, so the Flip 7
1:29is also IP48 certified. Color options
1:31include jet black, blue shadow, coral
1:34red, and mint, which is a Samsung.com
1:37exclusive. Another notable change in the
1:39ZFlip 7’s build are its dimensions. It’s
1:421.7 mm longer and 3.3 mm wider than the
1:46ZFlip 6, which may not sound like much
1:49on paper, but the difference is
1:51definitely noticeable in person. This
1:53year’s Flip gets a massive upgrade for
1:55its cover display, or how Samsung likes
1:57to call it, the flex window. It’s now a
2:004.1 in Super AMOLED panel that we can
2:03use from edge to edge and gets a peak
2:05brightness of 2600 nits and features a
2:08refresh rate of 120 hertz, making it the
2:11biggest and brightest cover screen so
2:14far from Samsung’s Z Flip lineup. From
2:16checking our rid’s ETAs to replying to
2:18messages, using widgets, or snapping
2:21selfies, the Flex Window is more capable
2:23than ever. It also now supports Google
2:25Gemini Live, the Now Bar, and Now Brief
2:28for real-time app activity, personal
2:30updates, and AI powered answers right
2:32from the cover, I mean Flex Window. Flip
2:35it open, and we’re greeted by a 6.9 in
2:37full HD plus dynamic AMOLED 2X display,
2:40which is pretty much fancy talk for an
2:42LTPO AMOLED panel, which allows the
2:44display to go from 120 to 1 herz when
2:47idle to save on battery life. Oh, and
2:50just like the flex window, it gets a
2:52peak brightness of 2600 nits. Just like
2:55any Samoled phone display, it looks
2:57sharp with vibrant color reproduction
2:59and inky deep blacks. Samsung also
3:01mentioned that these display panels
3:03offer more efficiency thanks to R&D
3:05refinements and the use of AI to manage
3:08brightness intelligently, so that’s
3:10cool. In terms of hardware, for the
3:12first time ever, a ZFlip device is
3:14powered by an Exynos chip, specifically
3:16the Exynos 2500. Samsung’s latest 3
3:19nanometer flagship chipset that a lot of
3:22people are happy did not make it to any
3:24of the S25 series models. They boasted
3:27that it’s packing in a more powerful
3:29CPU, GPU, and MPU than last year’s
3:31Exynos 2400. And with our time testing
3:34it on the Z Flip 7, it doesn’t really
3:37seem to really be much of an issue so
3:40far. For configurations, we get 12 GB of
3:43RAM across all variants offered here in
3:45the Philippines. There are only two
3:47storage options to choose between, which
3:49is 256 GB and 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
3:54We were not able to run benchmarks on
3:56the floor, but we can say that we didn’t
3:58really run into any bugs or lags with
4:00our time with any of the devices. For
4:03software, the ZFlip 7 runs on 1 UI 8
4:06based on Android 16, which brings some
4:08refined UI animations and a suite of
4:11Galaxy AI features like Gemini Live, the
4:13Now Bar and Now Brief, which we all
4:16previously mentioned. There’s also photo
4:18assist and portrait studio. And in
4:20typical Galaxy Z Flip fashion, we have
4:22multiple ways to take advantage of the
4:24Flex display with all its flex modes,
4:26which users can use for multitasking,
4:29tripod-free selfies, or video streaming,
4:31and even camera use. Another cool thing
4:34to mention is the ZFlip 7 is the first
4:36in the lineup to now give its users Dex
4:39support. Samsung Dex is the feature that
4:42pretty much turns our Samsung phones
4:44into desktop computers via a wired or
4:47wireless connection to a monitor or TV.
4:50Samsung also promised 7 years of
4:52software and security updates with this
4:54year’s ZFlip and Fold models. For
4:56optics, the ZFlip 7 features a 50
4:58megapixel main sensor that notably gets
5:01dual pixel autofocus and optical image
5:04stabilization baked in with a 12AP
5:06ultrawide sensor right next to it. And
5:09there’s a 10 megapixel selfie camera
5:11when unfolded. For those interested in
5:13seeing sample shots, take note that
5:15these were taken with engineering units,
5:17so we won’t judge image quality just
5:19yet. But here’s a quick look.

5:28[Music]
5:36For battery, Samsung crammed in a 4,300
5:39mAh dual cell unit, the largest battery
5:41ever in a ZFlip smartphone. Charging is
5:44rated at 25 watts wired with fast
5:46wireless charging 2.0 support and
5:48wireless power share. Surprisingly,
5:50Samsung also introduces the Z Flip 7 FE
5:53alongside the ZFold 7 and Flip 7. It’s
5:56Samsung’s new fan edition foldable,
5:58offering much of the Flip experience at
6:00a more affordable cost. Key specs
6:03include a 6.7 in full HD plus dynamic
6:05AMOLED 2x main display, a 3.4 in Super
6:08AMOLED cover screen, the Exynos 2400
6:12chipset, 8 GB of RAM with either 128 or
6:15256 GB of internal storage, a 4,000 mAh
6:19battery capacity, the same dual rear
6:21camera setup as the Z Flip 7, and the
6:24same ingress and glass protection as
6:26well. The Flip 7 FE is available in
6:29black and white. Another way of thinking
6:31about it is it’s the Galaxy Z Flip 6.5
6:35and we hope to explore more in a future
6:38video. Pre-orders for both models run
6:40until July 31 with general availability
6:43starting August 1. Those who pre-order
6:45get a free storage upgrade worth 8,000
6:48pesos. And pricing details are on
6:50screen.
6:54And those were the new Samsung Galaxy Z
6:56Flip 7 smartphones that launched today.

We’re fresh from the Samsung Unpacked event, and let’s just say the future of flip phones just got a whole lot more interesting.

Remember when cover screens were just for checking the time and seeing who’s calling?

Yeah, those days are officially over. In our latest video, we’re diving deep with the brand new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and its more accessible sibling, the Z Flip 7 FE.

What’s the big deal this time? Well, imagine a cover screen so big and so smooth, you might just forget to flip the phone open.

We’re talking about the largest Flex Window Samsung has ever put on a Z Flip. But is bigger always better? And with a new FE model in the mix, does this mean foldable tech is finally becoming a realistic option for more Pinoy users?

We unboxed them, flipped them, and put that massive new outer display through its paces to see if this is the upgrade worth waiting for. You’ve got to see it in action to believe how much you can do without even opening the phone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 coming to the Philippines?

Yes, absolutely! Samsung’s flagship devices, including the Z Flip series, typically launch in the Philippines shortly after global announcements. Keep an eye on YugaTech for the official local launch date and pricing.

What is the Z Flip 7 FE, and how is it different?

The ‘FE’ stands for Fan Edition. It’s designed to offer the core foldable experience of the Z Flip 7 at a more accessible price point, likely with some compromises on specs like the processor or camera to hit that lower cost. It’s great for Filipinos who want to try a flip phone without the flagship price tag.

Is the new cover screen really that useful?

Based on our hands-on. At 4.1 inches, it’s more than a notification panel. You can reply to messages, control music, use full widgets, and even take high-quality selfies using the main camera without opening the phone. It makes quick tasks incredibly convenient.

Is it still durable and water-resistant?

Samsung hasn’t skipped on durability. The Z Flip 7 retains an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance, has the latest Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and features a newly redesigned hinge that feels sturdier. It’s built for the daily grind.
