Gemini app for Android now available in the Philippines

Listen to article

Google’s Gemini app for Android users is now available in the Philippines.

After some time in select countries, the app can now be downloaded via the local Google Play Store.

Gemini (FKA Bard) is Google’s largest AI model, capable of taking on diverse tasks like writing, code generation, and problem-solving. Before, users in the country could only access the model via Google Assistant or its dedicated website.

Android users should note that Gemini’s mobile app is compatible with non-folding devices. Likewise, Samsung and Pixel foldables running Android 12 and above with at least 4GB of RAM are supported.

If you have Gemini up and running, users should also keep a few things in mind. We’ll also leave a video below for those interested!

Double-check your prompt results for accuracy. AI chatbots aren’t always totally accurate, and Gemini is not exempted from margins of error. Also, don’t rely on Gemini for financial, legal, medical, or professional advice.

Lastly, users are responsible for their use of code, which may be subject to an existing open-source license. Readers should take note that if you’ve updated your Google Assistant into Gemini via an alternative method, you’ll end up with two Gemini apps on your device.
