我第一次看到OLED电视是在 2010年3月我们参观LG工厂时，地点在韩国。那时只是一台15英寸的原型机，而LG在2012年CES上展示的这款则是55英寸的大屏。

这就是 10 个月的工程研发对电视显示屏所能产生的效果。而且我们说的是 OLED。
最令人印象深刻的部分是，这款巨大的 OLED 电视仅有 4mm 的厚度——不到 iPhone 4S 厚度的一半。
拍摄了这张在 LG 韩国的 15 英寸 OLED 电视的照片（当时在欧洲售价超过 2700 美元）。这就是 4mm 薄的样子。
当然，这款 OLED 电视近期不会真正大规模商业发布（虽然据说会有限量发行，单价为 10,000 美元）。OLED 仍然非常昂贵，可能需要再等 5 到 10 年才能进入主流？

too bad iphone’s 4 so called retina display was made by LG
5 to 10 years is way to long. I guess it would only take 2-3 years for OLEDs to be mainstreamed or who knows, maybe by 2013, OLED TV will be much affordable compared to today’s price. IMHO

Cute technology, but not too practical for home use. At that thickness, all you need is a wayward child with heavy hands. Or an overzealous maid/cleaning lady. You’re practically forced to stick it onto a wall for its own safety. :P

OLED screens are pretty nice but they are very very inconsistent in screen brightness, IPS is still the way to go when it comes to TV screens. Even samsung cant perfectly produce OLED screens at 4~8″ in size.
The clarity on that TV must be stunning!
