Taking over Motorcycle Philippines

[tags]motorcycle philippines, motorcyclephilippines, motorcyclephilippines.com, mcp philippines[/tags]

Just today, we’ve completed talks on taking over the site and forums at Motorcycle Philippines (motorcyclephilippines.com). Apparently the original owner and webmaster can no longer continue maintaining such a huge site so we offered to take over running it — everything from hosting, domains, software licenses, updates, forum management, events, sales and marketing (and I guess a whole lot more).

The site is pretty big actually, with 19,000 members in the forums, 200,000 unique visitors contributing to approximately 6 Million pageviews eating up 400GB of bandwidth monthly. It could easily eat up a couple hundred buck$ in operational costs (which it did with its former owner).

I am looking into converting the contents (except the forums) into a blog and hopefully be able to recuperate some of the costs (and time) from advertising.

I may have to buy my own bike to really get into the mood. How else can one manage the biggest motorcycle community in the Philippines if he doesn’t ride one? *jk* :D
