Astone Enforcer Mini-Nettop PC

The first Astone UMPC was first seen on store shelves back in April. No new updates after that. apparently, they’ve been silently building their own nettop PC too.

The Enforcer Mini-Nettop PC could be the first sub-10k nettop in the market. Spotted on the latest issue of PC Buyers Guide, the nettop has the following specs:

astone enforcer

  • Intel Atom 1.6GHz
  • Intel BLK945GCLF
  • NCP 1GB DDR2 RAM 667MHz
  • 80GB SeaGate HDD
  • 5.1 audio
  • 10/100 Mbps Ethernet
  • 4 USB 2.0 ports
  • DVI/D, VGA ports
  • 15-inch CRT monitor

Missing are Wireless LAN and a CD/DVD drive. The CTR monitor makes up for it.

The full price — a mere Php9,999. You can upgrade the monitor to a 16″ LCD for Php12,999.

nice, wonder how much you can shave off without the CRT and a 20/40GB HD (do they make those still). CD/DVD might be necessary, wireless lan, hmm its not a laptop they thought. bundle this with a PLDT DSL 999 plan :)

cheap notebook, but one important feature is missing– the wifi. wifi is very important today especially if you’re on-the-go.

wow, this is more like it for my low-power, mini-server. i agree with andre in getting rid of the CRT monitor. i hope this comes in a small form-factor.

im keeping my hopes up that others will follow suit and bring down the prices to the 7K level. :)

    ciao!

I was able to buy that exact casing in greenhills for 1.8k..

For CD/DVD, the reason why they didn’t add one because you had to use an internal slim cd/dvd which would have jacked up the price a bit more and the heatsink for the motherboard they are using is high. regular sized internal cd/dvd will not fit.

you need to use a low-profile heatsink for the intel atom before you can fit in your internal cd/dvd.you can try googling for it. there are US-based online stores selling the heatsink.

or you can just use an external one. like i do.
