Hi Abe! Do those prices already cover the cost of the OS? Also, which computer shop do you recommend?
Thanks!
I like neo’s new laptop, intel centrino duo core, 1.66, 512 ddr2, 80 gig sata drive, 8x dvd drive lang ata, 15″ or 14″ screen, intel 950 builtin video card (I tried macbook with the same vcard and it was ok (very sharp and clear) for non gaming purpose laptop)… price 69 - 80 k,
Manuel: I edited the post to include the pre-installed OSes.
vance: MSI has a similar specs for 69k but they’re on the 14″ and 15″ screen models.
ah ic why didn’t you include that on the list? hehe just wondering..
apple has a budget laptop, i’ve tried it awhile ago the 13″ macbook it runs on 2.0 ghz intel dual core processor, 2mb l2 cache, 667 fsb, 512 ddr 2 mem, intel 950 64 mb ddr2 shared memory vcard, 60 gig sata drive, 4x dvd drive, firewire 400, usb, lan , built-in isight. it comes with osx 10.4.4 and ilife 06
price tag $1300 = P71500 but wait! price tag here in manila = 80 K laki ng differensya
i also heard that toshiba laptop has a dual core processor with dvd writer around 1k up (usd) kasi yung husband ng sister-in-law ng aunty ko bought one in us yun daw ang price..
it’s really cheaper if you buy it here sa US. if you know someone who travels to the US or a relative who’s coming home to the Phils, you can ask them to get you one here. just make sure you specify the model and/or specs of the laptop that you want.
then when it’s sale, talagang sale. and the best time to buy gadgets/electronics is during Thanksgiving. people line-up in BestBuy like a day before just to be included in the number of people who can avail of special deals. an example, you can get a desktop for free after rebates. if you buy a digital camera like a digital SLR, you can get nice a very good lens, case, etc for free.
vance:
9,000 difference? that’s not much, considering shipping, tax, etc. the question is, are these made in China (?) units shipped to the Philippines directly or do they pass through the US.
Migs, 9k is big for people who are looking for good laptop, with 9k you can buy additional mems for your laptop. thats too big, I rather ask someone to buy it abroad than spending that much. Its ok if the dfference is around 1 - 2k bt 9k thats too big.
anyways i don’t know where it was made..
I want to buy… problem is, where can I loan?
hi abe,
are these good as development machines? are you using these?
is it true that the battery it will last for 3-4hrs? how about msi s260?tnx., because i’m planning to buy which one of the msi s260 or compaq v3000.
I just bought a neo laptop dual core, 1 gig ram, 80 gig hd for just 29,900. Its for general purpose use.
