XO Laptop: Buy 1, Donate 1 for $399

Nobody said the “O” in OLPC project meant one-hundred dollars. The One Laptop Per Child Project is now accepting orders and donations for these hand-cranks rigs.

For a $200 donation, you get to send a poor child in a developing nation one of these laptops. For $399, they’d send you one to your home and give away the other one as donation.

OLPC

Yeah, the $100 laptop is now $200. Guess somebody needs to get some profits, eh?

Starting November 12, One Laptop Per Child will be offering a Give 1 Get 1 Program for a brief window of time. For $399, you will be purchasing two XO laptops—one that will be sent to empower a child to learn in a developing nation, and one that will be sent to your child at home. If you’re interested in Give 1 Get 1, we’ll be happy to send you a reminder email. Just sign up in the box to the left and you’ll receive your reminder prior to the November 12 launch date.

You can sign-up here and leave your email address to be notified when the open orders to the public or you can use your Paypal account to just donate one laptop for $200.
