AdSense Alternatives Revisited

Recent developments have forced a lot of webmasters and publishers alike to re-think their online monetization strategies. The PR penalty, the changes in AdSense clickable ads, and an impending SERPs penalty has allowed a lot of us to explore other alternatives besides AdSense and TLA.

Over two years ago, I posted an entry about potential AdSense alternatives publishers can experiment on. Today, the monetization landscape has expanded fairly competitively to other forms — CPM, CPA, etc.

There are tons of other alternatives out there. It’s just a matter of finding the right one and exploring which ones are best-fit for our publications and niches. Retz has been very successful with BidVertiser (last time I saw his cheque, it was in the 6 figures still). Rickey shares he’s doing good with ADSDAQ and BlueLithium. Marghil says Widgetbucks is a promising new option (until recently) and Connie is doing really well with Amazon Associates.

Several other bloggers have also shared their relative success with Adbrite, Chitika and Kontera. And yes, we all wanted to get majority of our ads direct from advertisers. The earlier we discover our independence with Google AdSense, the less worry we have with whatever restrictions it imposes on partner Publishers (which is us).

So, let’s all share some of our relative successes outside of AdSense and TLA. Which programs have you had some progress and which ones are getting you some residual income?

Please share your top 3 revenue source aside from AdSense, TLA (and other link marketplaces) — mine is AdMob, Kontera, and AdBrite. FeedBurner Ad Network (FAN) until Google bought it and advertisers fled.

Google has been getting some bad press lately from the closing of Google Video and their perceived heavy handedness in dealing with adsense publishers. I wonder if this is the beginning of the end of the Google honeymoon…

Really, did the Google buyout make FeedBurner advertisers leave? Or did Google themselves close down the program?

My top three non-AdSense money earners for my blogs would be:

    1. Chitika
    2. Linkshare
    3. Commissions from Real Estate Sales of property I have featured on my sites.

Usually, though, AdSense is still my number 1 earner.

I tried Kontera for a month. It was giving some good click-throughs but those are probably from accidental clicks. The rate is quite low so its not advisable on low traffic sites like mine.

    Anyone trying LinkWorth?

This is one of our most popular posts this month, linked by engadget and gizmodo (both!). A media player with a 12 MP camera. Yes, 12 MP and it costs P5k only

Good to hear this post. I was a victim of invalid clicks from my other website. Google Adsense was doing fine with me, until one day, the shocking email came out - telling me that my account was involved with invalid clicks activity which was not true, I can’t prove the scenario to big “G” for my innocence. I tried my best but no luck on re-instating the account. I am still lucky to get my last earning sent to my bank account (BA), huh, it was my last $$$$ from big “G”. Since then I looked for an alternatives and found out that these 3 is a good alternatives.

(1.) Adbrite - is giving me good $$$$ in all my sites.
(2.) Bidvertiser - Very good in paying high bid clicks.
(3.) Amazon Associates and Commission Junction - Both is doing well.

I tried others like Kontera, Widgetbucks, Ads-Click, Auction Ads, ValueClick, and many more and found out the 3 above is doing well with me.
