Google has confirmed that AirDrop-style sharing between Android and Apple devices will soon be available on more Android phones, not just Pixel models. During a press briefing, Eric Kay, Google’s vice president of engineering for Android, said that support for Quick Share with Apple’s AirDrop will expand to “a lot more” Android devices this year. This means users will soon be able to send files directly between Android phones and iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks without using cables or third-party apps. Right now, this feature only works on Google’s Pixel 10 series. Quick Share, Android’s wireless file-sharing tool, was updated last year to work with Apple’s AirDrop.
