Apparently, the iPhone can still be bought without the required 24-month contract with AT&T. A recent press release from AT& reveals the iPhone 3G to be priced at $599 for the 8GB and $699 for the 16GB. These contract-free prices seemed like the same prices when the first iPhone went out. And we thought the speculated prepaid price of Php25,000 was already expensive. According to Engadget, Vodafone Italy has just set an out-of-contract price for the iPhone 3G at €499 ($773) for the 8GB model and €569 ($881) for the 16GB models.
That’s how much would an open line (legit unlocked) iPhone would have cost if Apple did not enter into any 2-year contract with the telcos.
When Apple announced the iPhone, Steve claims they will take on at least 1% of the mobile phone market. The massive hype and marketing campaign Apple created has showed how it can sell whatever product it develops.

I admire people who has that entrepreneurial spirit. It allows them to see great opportunities during those rare occasions. During the height of the iPhone craze, a group of those business-minded people saw money hawking iPhones. Another group saw money hacking them.
Apple is also best known for their simple, witty and sometimes trashy commercials. Steve & Co. has been banking on the Mac vs. PC crusade for years and have made dozens of commercials about it.
Now, with the release iPhone and their venture into the mobile market, Apple is up against the bigger giants of the cellphone industry. And on the top spot, Nokia.
