Ziff Davis to stop PCMag print-edition

Listen to article

In February last year, we was reported that PC Mag Philippines will stop publication and early this year, parent company Ziff-Davis filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Now, PCMag the magazine will also cease publication.

The magazine started in 1982. The last issue will be dated January 2009. The editorial team will remain as the company will focus on the online version, PCMag.com, according to Rafat Ali of PaidContent.

pcmag

PC Mag is probably the first globally distributed magazine to fold.

The existing site will now become a network called PCMag Digital Network and is composed of some familiar titles — ExtremeTech, Gearlog, Appscout, Smart Device Central, GoodCleanTech, DL.TV, Cranky Geeks, and PCMagCast.

Will people miss tech magazines like PCMag when they’re also available online?

That’s sad news. PCMag was one of my favorite tech publications. I guess some of us still prefer to have the hard copy even though it’s also available online. Just like the regular newspaper, some people still prefer to have the hard copy delivered to their doorstep or sent via mail.

Sure will. Nothing beats reading any publication in its printer format. I cannot bring my laptop, anyway, to the comfort room.
