Astone Nano Mobile Charger

A portable/mobile charger is a must for the traveling geek so when I spotted this mobile charger at the Changi Airport last week, I grabbed one for myself. I’ve seen smaller ones that fit easily in the pocket but I wanted something that has more juice so the Astone Nano Mobile Charger got my vote.

See specs and pictures after the jump…

Astone Mobile Charger

This is one of the larger sized mobile chargers out there but the additional weight goes with more battery life. Rated at 4200mAh, this Lithium Polymer battery is almost the same size as my 30GB iPod video, minus a centimeter in the side but a bit thicker. It weighs a little less though at 115 grams versus the iPod at 136g.

The packaging says it can charge up your phone’s battery up to 6 times, depending on the type or model.

It comes with 6 separate adaptors for different phones and portable devices. There’s one for my Samsung i600 and my Nokia 6233 while my iPod cable fits well with the USB socket. I think the best way to compute how many full charges this can make on your mobile device is to divide the mAh (Milliamp Hour) for each battery. For example, the regular Samsung batteries are rated at 700 mAh while Nokia’s BP-6M batteries are rated at 970 mAh so if you divide that from the 4200 mAh Astone Mobile Charger, you’d get somewhere between 4 to 6 recharge cycles.

The mobile charger itself can be hooked up on your wall socket or any powered USB sockets and can last up to charge 400 cycles. Costs a bit expensive at Php3,500 but for heavy gadget users that’s always on the go, it’s well worth it.
