Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Series Gaming Notebook Review

Display and Multimedia

Packing a 15-inch Anti-Glare IPS display, the Inspiron 15 7000 is great for productivity and entertainment. Dell has three display models for this notebook – HD and FHD Anti Glare non-touch display, and a UHD Truelife touch display. The unit we have on hand is the Full HD non-touch variant.

It is bright, has good colors and decent viewing angles with just some slight color shifting when viewed at extreme angles from the top and sides. Still, the display is enjoyable for productivity tasks, viewing photos and watching videos.

Dell didn’t skimp on the audio and equipped the Inspiron 15 7000 with dual speakers and a subwoofer coupled with Waves MaxxAudio Pro. That said, audio quality is loud with good trebles and acceptable bass. It’s not mid to high-end Bluetooth speaker quality good but it good enough to let you enjoy your streaming services like Spotify or YouTube, as well as your private collection of media files.

OS and Apps

The Inspiron 15 7000 runs Windows 10 Home 64-bit. Like most notebooks, it comes pre-installed with apps such as McAfee LiveSafe, Dell’s own apps, Dropbox, and a few driver software. Microsoft Office is also available via an Office 365 subscription.

Storage-wise, the Inspiron carries a 1TB hard drive. Less the memory occupied by the system files and pre-installed apps, you are left with around 890GB of usable storage which is not bad.

As for me, I went with the i5 config, as it makes more sense for my gaming needs as the i7. Price is 50k tops. I suggest upon getting one, buy an m2 sata ssd, set it up as your boot drive, and format the 1tb as your backup/media storage. Maybe throw a little 8gb ddr3 stick there if you feel you need to, as they’re quite cheap anyways. I plan to replace the wireless card too, if the drivers still won’t make any improvements in the future.

I been browsing your page for a while now because I loved to read reviews and I saw this one so why give it a try to read. I was surfing the net to canvass a budget gaming laptop for around 35k, well im not that rich. So back to the problem, I was having some issue on your web page. It is slow, loading of images takes time and the NEXT PAGE tab. The tab is located at the bottom part of the advertisement which I think is a bad design. Maybe you could solve this issue. Thanks and more power guys :D :D

CompLink in SM Megamall, then another shop (whose name I forget now but near Octagon) in VMall Greenhills.

I finally got during last January the i5 version of the laptop discussed here, the Inspiron 7559. My only complaint is the lid gets, well, smudges despite the (so-called) matte finish. -_-

Still, I say I got a bang-for-my-buck laptop for its price and specs if/when compared to near-similar ones from Acer or even Asus.

I can’t believe that you still don’t like the battery. It’s a gaming notebook in your description. Running on battery which lasts over 5hrs to do non-gaming activities should already be great.

Yep. And you obviously SHOULD NOT use this laptop if you plan to use it for gaming WITHOUT plugging the charger on. I mean come on, this is A LAPTOP, not a desktop.
