WP8 ported to HTC HD2

That’s right! The folks from DFT (Dark Force Team) has successfully installed Microsoft’s latest mobile platform to HTC’s 3-year old Windows Phone handset as seen on their blog (in Chinese).

DFT, as some of you may know, isn’t exactly new to this business of porting other OS to this aging handset. They team actually ported a handful of Windows Phone OS to the HTC HD2 already, as well as Android. This hack makes us wonder why pre-WP8 handsets (i.e Lumia 900, HTC Titan etc.) cannot be updated to the latest OS because of “hardware limitations” while a veteran phone seems to be handling it just fine.

Aside from few images just like the one above, little is actually known about this mod. We’re expecting that the team will shed some light on their brilliant work in the near future. One thing’s for sure though, the HTC HD2 is one die-hard Windows Phone handset!

Blasphemy! your N9 is more capable than any WP8 nokia device. You can multiboot your N9 among these ports Sailfish OS, FireFox OS, Tizen OS & Android.

Blasphemy talaga. Anyway I’m not as techie as the others are. Just reading a blog on how to increase the font of my messages gave me nosebleed. I really like my N9. The simpleness of it, you know, the swype-swype and all. But I’m frustrated with the apps. I wish I can Tango video call. It was really disappointing when Nokia just dropped this and didn’t even give it a chance. Ok. Back to HTC HD2…
