First glimpse at the Sony i1 aka Honami

Just days after the Xperia Z Ultra has made its formal debut, the rumor mill has churned out the first ever snapshot of the highly-speculated Sony smartphone with 20MP camera which currently goes by the moniker Honami.

The said picture (seen below) originated from the folks over at a TechTudo, tech blog site that hails from Brazil. In the image, the posterior of the rumored handset is placed in between the recently announced Xperia Z Ultra (left) and Xperia ZL (right).

Regrettably, the site wasn’t able to take a snap of the smartphone’s front panel which could’ve given us a clue on its screen size. But judging from the extra headroom that this phone has over the ZL, I think it’s safe to say that Honami’s display will slightly be above 5 inches.
Based on early leaks and rumors, here’s how Sony i1’s specs sheet will look like.

Sony Honami specs:
5-inch+ 1080p IPS display @ 1920×1080 pixels
Added layer of glass for protection
Qualcomm 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor
Adreno 330 GPU
2GB RAM
32GB internal storage
LTE 100Mbps
Wi-Fi 802.11ac
Bluetooth 4.0
IR Blaster
Li-Ion 3,000mAh battery
Android 4.2 Jelly bean

TechTudo claims that the hardware shown in the image was a prototype, thus it may still be subject to makeover. But then again, the picture can just be a product of their wild imagination and skillful handiwork. Either way, it’s best if we take this matter lightly until we hear an official word from Sony.

A single LED flash for a 20MP shooter? I call bullsh*t. That sensor looks way too small and the phone way too thin for a 20MP. Maybe cheating by software interpolation (like Starmobile‘s Knight)? Anyway, I’d take the Honami final product over the Galaxy Camera and NX any day. But if I wasn’t such an Android fanboy, the Lumia 1020 wins this contest hands down.

Ok, you call bullsh*t. Who is he?…

that better not be the Honami.

the camera placement is BAAAADDD. your finger is bound to block the lens because it’s placed too close to the corner

  3. poink says:
