Alongside the new Xiaomi 15T Series, the company also launched the 41mm Xiaomi Watch S4. This one’s the smaller sibling of the OG Xiaomi Watch S4 that has been released locally in March 2025.

The main difference, aside from the smaller frame, is surely the design, which now seems focused on exuding elegance rather than the sporty look from the OG version. So, what else does it have in store? Let’s take a closer look.
Design, Build, and Display
At first glance, this 41mm version has a more minimalist vibe while keeping the premium look and feel intact. Our unit is in the Golden color option that uses a stainless-steel frame complemented by the color-matched Milanese straps with a magnetic buckle.

There’s no interchangeable bezel here, if you’re wondering. Durability-wise, the watch also the usual 5ATM water resistance.
On the right, you’ll see a side button and the crown with faceted detail all around, and notably, it has diamonds embedded in its top part. Are those actual diamonds? I could never know, but Xiaomi does say these diamonds are “lab-grown”. So, there’s that.

Going back to its design, the 41mm version mainly caters to women. But as a guy like myself, I’d say men can still pull off an outfit wearing one of these. What I really like about it is it’s lightweight even with the stainless-steel strap.

Now, the 1.32-inch AMOLED display comes in a circular shape and a resolution of 466 by 466 pixels. If you look closely, the bezel also comes with that faceted detail and methinks that’s a little nice touch.
The screen is decently bright and there’s even a Sunlight mode to make it more visible under strong lighting. You can also appreciate the Always-on display, though it eats the battery life quite a bit. And to mitigate that, I set it to be enabled only at certain times of the day.
Health Features and Fitness Tracking
Despite the elegant look, the Xiaomi Watch S4 packs pretty much all the nifty health and fitness tracking features.

The watch comes with an ‘upgraded’ heart rate module, thanks to the new 4-LED 4-PD sensor. The advantage of this is that it allows for real-time heart rate tracking, even while swimming.
Other notable features are sleep tracking, blood pressure and blood oxygen monitoring, skin temperature, and stress levels. Of course, a feature that’s useful for the gals is the smart period predictions that, according to Xiaomi, is based on basal body temperature trends.

However, just like with the smartwatches I’ve tried before, you may need to enable such health tracking features one-by-one on the Watch S4 as well.

When it comes to fitness tracking, the watch offers over 150 sports mode. So far, I have only tried walking and the metrics that the smartwatch captures are accurate to say the least.
Notably, it comes with a GPS system built-in, so route tracking is possible as well. I noticed that it’s faster to lock on to a satellite when connected to my phone. So, as much as possible, I also bring my phone with me when I’m walking outside.
Software and User Experience
Speaking of connectivity, you can expect that the Xiaomi Watch S4 is compatible with any smartphone through Xiaomi’s app called Mi Fitness.
I have the POCO F6 Pro as my daily driver, and it supports Xiaomi Interconnectivity offering a bit more seamless integration with the Xiaomi Watch S4. It allows for stuff like media controls and the ability to ring a sound to your phone using the watch (vice-versa) to locate it.

I also like the amount of customization that you can get. There are lots of watch faces to choose from, including this little capybara attempting to balance some oranges on its head. So stupid… I like it.

What I didn’t like, though, is that I feel like it lacks some quality-of-life features that are likewise useful in our daily lives. For example, it does come with NFC, but there’s no option to use the watch for contactless payments, at least for now.
Another issue that I have with the Watch S4, in fact for all Xiaomi smartwatches, is the app selection is still limited to its first-party apps like Alarms, Weather, Tasks through Mi Notes, and the Calendar.
I’d like to have a pomodoro timer on my watch, but it appears I still can’t do that with the Xiaomi Watch S4.
Lastly, despite the Xiaomi Interconnectivity thing, I can’t reply to chats or text messages directly from the watch, which is something I hope Xiaomi can improve upon.
Battery Life
Now, moving on to the most crucial part in this review: the battery life.
Powering the watch is a 320mAh battery in which Xiaomi claims can last up to 8 days on typical use, and up to 3 days with heavy usage. That said, I’m happy to report that my actual usage is close to those numbers.

Right out of the box, the watch had around 50% of battery and I was only able to drain the battery six days later. It would’ve lasted for longer if I hadn’t enabled always-on display in the last couple of days from that week of testing.
The downtime won’t be that long as the watch charges to 50% in just about 20 minutes. Then, it takes to a full charge in a little over an hour.
Pricing and Verdict
Smartwatches are essentially made for health and fitness, and the Xiaomi Watch S4 is absolutely great for that purpose. It covers all the basics and offers a user-friendly experience overall.
It does fall short in certain aspects, such as the lack of wider app support and the inability to pay conveniently from the wrist. Still, the pros outweigh the cons: it’s got a sleek design, feature rich health and fitness tracking, and long-lasting battery life.

The price is a potential advantage, too. As of writing, there’s no official pricing just yet, but for context, the original Xiaomi Watch S4 10 with interchangeable bezel had a starting price of PHP 7,799.
If the 41mm version would carry the same price tag, then it’s surely worth considering.
