The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 has been unveiled, set to power upcoming midrange smartphones. This iteration of the processor comes with incremental performance changes.

The new chipset retains the same Kryo CPU architecture as its predecessor but with a faster Prime Cortex-A720 core clocked at 2.7GHz. It has went up from 2.5GHz, delivering a 7% CPU performance boost.
The three Cortex-A720 performance cores remain at 2.4GHz, while the four Cortex-A520 efficiency cores stay at 1.8GHz. GPU performance also improves by 7% with an upgraded Adreno unit.
The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 supports Qualcomm Elite Gaming features including Game Super Resolution and Adaptive Performance Engine 3.0. Display support goes up to 2,900 x 1,300 resolution with a refresh rate of 144Hz.

For imaging, the Spectra ISP supports sensors up to 200MP and 4K video recording at 30fps with HLG, HDR10, and HDR10+. Memory and storage are handled by LPDDR5 RAM at 3,200MHz and UFS 3.1.
Connectivity options include WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and sub-6GHz 5G. In addition, the chipset also supports Quick Charge 4+.
For AI tasks, the upgraded Hexagon NPU can run models like Llama 1B and Qwen 1B and enables real-time translation features.
At the time of writing, the first device announced to have the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 under the hood is the Redmi Note 15 Pro+.
