Good news for those who own older Xperia devices as Sony has started to roll out the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update.

If you have an Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, or an Xperia Z5 Premium, you can expect a notification for an update to the latest version of Android anytime soon. The screenshot below is from an Xperia Z5 Dual handset with a security patch for June 2017.

Not only the Xperia Z5 family is reported to receive the new software as the update for Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4 Tablet is also live. To get the update, make sure to check the Settings panel to download. The roll out will slowly reach each handset worldwide so the update notification may take its time.
