Nexus 5 gets a high repairability score

Listen to article

Here we are patiently waiting for the Nexus 5. Early adopters of the said device here in PH will probably have it from the grey market or directly from the Play Store (or wherever it is available). With that, official local warranty is out of the question but what if it breaks down too early or unexpectedly?

The famous fix-it-yourself website iFixit had the latest Nexus phone under their test. They found out that it’s just easy to repair, unlike other devices out their. What makes the Nexus 5’s repair so easy? It is due to the plastic clips it uses to bind the “non-removable” back cover and it only has few adhesives throughout the device. Screws are of standard design too.

Of course, the fun ends with the screen. Like any other great smartphone displays, the LCD panel and the glass are fused together within the frame. That means cracking, breaking or even scratching (on some rare cases) the Gorilla Glass 3 will definitely cost you.

Head over to the iFixit page for specifics and more internal photos.

Nor did the four dramas that were scheduled for release in December appear to delve very deeply into the human condition from a psychological standpoint.
Tuesday’s announcement represents an astonishing turn of fortune for Birkenfeld, who was released from
federal prison in August after serving 31 months on charges relating to his efforts to help a wealthy client
avoid taxes. Remember, there is something about a**holes that makes then
resistant to almost all forms of death, natural or otherwise.

The repairability score is based on how easy it is to fix not how durable the device is. Also, the parts and service warranty does not cover accidental drops and misuse. Nexus 4 is also sandwiched with two glasses making it very very fragile.

Thumbs up for the fixability of the Nexus 5…

unlike the new IPADs/IpHones which are virtually immpossible to take apart and re-assemble when you need repairs…
People at Apple feel these products are DISPOSABLES (i.e. you throw them away when they go sour)

Exactly THEO! Especially the Galaxy phones of Samsung! The plastic phone has a limited useful life. Incredibly not durable and low quality and are unarguably a disposable phone. I have to give credit to Apple products over Samsung though because the former has higher quality and more durable. :)

WAY TO GO LG for your Nexus 5! Indeed, life’s good! ;)
