The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 was officially launched end of 2021 and has created a new perspective when it comes to flagship phones. Now, Qualcomm is surpassing that with a better version that will appear in the next set of flagship devices. Qualcomm calls it the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1.
Qualcomm claims the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 offers 10 percent faster CPU performance, `10 percent faster GPU clocks, and utilizes 15 percent power consumption for nearly an hour of extra gameplay. Qualcomm says they have achieved “up to 30 percent” better power efficiency from its internal parts, which of course, perform better with a 20 percent better AI.
Additionally, Qualcomm unveils the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 that is targeted at gamers with 20 percent graphic performance boost versus the previous generation and trickled-down features like the Adreno Frame Motion Engine making games smoother through interpolating frames.
Some familiar names that are up for release with the latest Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen1 are Asus ROG, Black Shark, Honor, iQOO, Lenovo, Motorola, Nubia, OnePlus, OPPO, OSOM, realme, RedMagic, Redmi, vivo, Xiaomi, and ZTE. Meanwhile, Honor, Oppo, and Xiaomi have signed up for the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 with Qualcomm revealing that the phones will be seen within weeks.
