Samsung Ativ S running Windows Phone 8

Listen to article

Not only did Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 2 in IFA, they also beat Nokia to unveiling the first Windows Phone 8 handset — the Samsung ATIV S.

Samsung’s announcement of the Ativ S WP8 is breaking a lot of records for a Windows Phone handset.

The Ativ S will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 processor (Krait) at 1.5GHz dual-core with 1GB RAM. The 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display has a 720p resolution, 16GB or 32GB internal storage expandable by another 32GB via microSD card.

The handset also has NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, 8MP camera and 2300mAh Li-Ion battery. No price or release date was indicated.

Hmm. i’ll keep an eye on this one and Nokia. They say that you dont need zune just to put your media in your phone. I like the design slim, metalic texture.

Excellent hardware specs… crappy OS. Slap an Android OS on there and I’m ready to buy.

and rename it the GALAXY S3…

have you tried WP? dont bash it until youve tried it, i SOLD my Androids and went back to WP simply because it felt better for me so android might be for you but for those of us who have had WP its perfect

Mas better pa nga WP para sakin eh.. Android, laggy. Kailangan mo pa ng matataas na processors para maging fluid. WP, simplicity. Android, complex and chaotic.

If you’d slam Android on this, you would be more ignorant as fuck than you are actually now. Ever heard of the Galaxy S III ? It has the same chassis with this. Moron.

Android laggy? Baka naman natry mo lang na Android yung mga less than 5K lang… Laggy nga yun, kasi yung specs from low-end lang talaga. Though you won’t experience the lag, not unless super dami nang apps nakainstall…

Nope, ang stupid ko naman kung sa less than 5k phones ako magcocompare. Btw, sa SGS2 ng cousin ko at sa HTC sensation ng friend ko naka-experience ako ng lag. Even my friend’s SGAce plus din pala.

it’s nice but it’s not as cool as Nokia-done Lumia Windows Phone, we’ll just wait what Nokia has for the WP8.

SAMSUNG… Tmobile… please… SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY

WP7 restrictive? nainstall ko nga APPS na exclusive sa NOKIA(Nokia Drive 3.0), HTC and LG sa Samsung Focus ko, without any problems and installed a boat load of APPS and GAMES on it

I hope WP8 won’t be as dull and boring as the restrictive WP7.

I hope WP8 won’t be as boring and dull as WP7, which is too restricted.
