The highly-anticipated launch of Xiaomi’s new flagship smartphone has commenced, and after a short moment of reminiscing about the company’s achievement, CEO Lei Jun hopped on stage to introduce the new Xiaomi Mi Note.
Contrary to previous speculations, the Chinese company’s new flagship handset is not called RedMi Note 2, rather Mi Note.

Xiaomi’s new flagship smartphone will be powered by a sizeable lithium-ion battery with 3000mAh capacity.
The Mi Note’s 5.7-inch panel is said to utilize a screen technology that will minimize eye strain. It has a Full-HD resolution and makes use of a NEGA negative LCD panel that has 95% NTSC Color Gamut, 1400:1 contrast ration and Adaptive dynamic contrast.
The front and back portions of the Xiaomi Mi Note are covered in curved glass which, in theory, should make it more easy to hold.
Optical Image Stabilization technology is also in play on the Mi Note’s rear camera which is accompanied by a two-tone flash unit made by Phillips. Below is a sample shot taken by the Xiaomi Mi Note.
Apart from its great cameras, the Xiaomi Mi Note also supports 24-bit/192KHz lossless playback.
The 16GB variant of the Xiaomi Mi Note will retail for Yuan 2299 or a little over Php16,500USD 281INR 23,836EUR 268CNY 2,048, while the 32GB model can be had for Yuan 2799. Xiaomi will also offer a spec’d-out version of the Mi Note called Xiaomi Mi Note Pro which will sport Quad-HD display, 64GB internal storage and 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. It will be sold for Yuan 3299 almost twenty-four grand in our local currency.
