The Department of Transportation (DOTr), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and Asian Development Bank (ADB) held the first-ever on-site inspection of the 53-kilometer PNR Clark Phase 2 of the North-South Commuter Railway project in Mabalacat, Pampanga.
The North-South Commuter Railway Project will have six stations in Calumpit, Apalit, San Fernando, Angeles, Clark, and Clark International Airport. The current progress of the project is at 32%. The project also features the first Airport Railway Express Service, which will connect Makati and the Clark International Airport, with a travel time of just 55 minutes.
The DOTr says that once complete, the travel time between Malolos, Bulacan, and Clark, Pampanga will be cut from 1.5 to 2 hours to just 30 to 35 minutes.
The government agency also said that the project has opened a total of 7,000 jobs for Filipinos and is expected to generate 3,000 more.
