Electric bikes should be registered — LTO

We’ve been seeing a number of videos concerning e-bikes lately and as anticipated, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) was able to notice the trend and has expressed concern.

As reported by ABS-CBN News, electric vehicles are covered by the Land Transportation Code according to LTO and must be registered and used with a license. Sellers, even buyers, of e-bikes should know about it, the agency added.

Just this week, the agency was able to confiscate e-bikes plying along EDSA, Commonwealth Avenue and main thoroughfares of Pasay City. LTO is also gathering a list of e-bike sellers to have a dialog with them.

If you’re planning on getting one, think twice for now as we let concerned agencies take a look into the issue.

In the same manner, bakit hindi allowed ang motorized ATV sa main roads?

So what if the ebike that i own is 2nd hand? And wala nang receipt? Anong gagawin? This is my only mode of transportation para makatipid ng pang trike papasok sa trabaho ko. And where to find this in fine print?
