Xiaomi has released the K30, K30 5G, and K30 Pro in the Chinese market under the Redmi brand. Now, there are rumors that Redmi is releasing another 5G variant of the K30 non-pro, at a much lower price point.
According to a report made by ITHome, the Redmi K30i was created by both Xiaomi and terminal companies to promote the expansion of 5G users. It is said to debut at the end of April and will be promoted by mobile companies from May to June.
If you recall the Redmi K30 5G, sports a 6.67-inch Full HD+ display running at 120Hz, a Snapdragon 765G chipset paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage on the base model, and an impressive 64MP primary camera. Based on the report, the Redmi K30i will keep most specs but will feature a cut down 48MP camera instead. As a result, Redmi has been able to bring the price down from CNY 2,299 to CNY 1,799.
Additionally, ITHome’s report also reveals a new 5G capable, Xiaomi smartphone coming to market this June that will only cost CNY 1,599. However, no additional details of this upcoming smartphone have been revealed yet.
