It looks like Samsung’s Exynos chips could be making a return to the flagship Galaxy lineup in 2026. According to a new rumor, the upcoming Galaxy S26 series may once again be powered by Exynos at least in some markets.
The Exynos 2600 is reportedly in line to power select Galaxy S26 models, a year after the Galaxy S25 series went all-in on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy due to production yield issues with the Exynos 2500.

If the rumor is accurate, Europe will once again be the region where Samsung rolls out Exynos-powered Galaxy S phones, continuing a long-standing trend. While it’s unclear why Samsung continues to test Exynos chips in that market, this may be a way for the company to avoid repeating last year’s costly misstep.
Samsung’s own System LSI division reportedly lost around $400 million due to the Exynos 2500 being excluded from the Galaxy S25 lineup. Bringing Exynos back into the mix—at least partially—could help recoup some of those losses and get the division back on track.

Unfortunately for Exynos hopefuls, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is still expected to outperform the Exynos 2600. That means users in Europe may once again receive Galaxy flagships with slightly inferior performance compared to their Snapdragon-equipped counterparts in other markets.
Samsung has yet to confirm anything officially, but if history is any indication, chip variation by region could once again be part of its flagship strategy for 2026.
