Sony has announced the FE 50-150mm F2 GM (SEL50150GM), the world’s first full-frame telephoto zoom lens with a constant F2 aperture and 150mm maximum focal length, designed for professionals in portrait, wedding, indoor sports, and video production.
Part of the company’s G Master lens series, the FE 50-150mm F2 GM promises prime-like sharpness, smooth bokeh, and fast autofocus performance in a compact package. The lens supports high-resolution image capture across the entire zoom range, thanks to its advanced optical design consisting of two XA (extreme aspherical) elements, two Super ED glass elements, and three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) elements.

Sony also emphasized its video-friendly features, including focus breathing suppression, support for Breathing Compensation on select Alpha cameras, and quiet autofocus performance.
Despite its bright aperture and wide range, the lens weighs around 1,340g and measures 200mm in length, making it relatively portable for handheld and rig-based setups.
Price and Availability
From May 19 to June 1, 2025 the Sony FE 50-150mm F2 GM is currently available for pre-order from Sony Authorized Dealers with a hefty price tag of PHP 229,000.00.
