Just days after we released our full review of the Xperia Tablet Z, Sony Philippines has made the gorgeous 10-inch tablet available nationwide through their concept stores. Read on for the full details.
The one that we have for review was a 16GB Wi-Fi only version which currently retails for Php27,500 on e-tailers. On the other hand, Sony’s selling the LTE-enabled version with the same internal storage and they’re asking Php35,990 for it.
We’re not entirely sure what to make out of Sony PH’s pricing, because the tablet is marginally cheaper in other countries where it was also being retailed. For example, in the UK it only costs £499 or little under 33k in our local currency same goes for India where it retails for an equivalent amount of Php32,364.
The bottom line here is that although we think that the Sony Xperia Tablet Z is currently the best looking (and performing) 10-inch Android tablets in the lot, shelling out 36K for it is a little too much even if it has LTE connectivity. Do you share the same sentiment? Let us know in the comments field.
in malaysia it’s only 19k-21k
Ang mahal naman nyan! Si Manny Pacquiao lang yata makakabili nyan.
Sakto ito xmas gift ko sa sarili ko. By December hopefully di na ganito kamahal hehe
One of the staff in sony trinoma said that the price is only 23,990 for the base model… How come its higher now?
it’s price is very high, with that price I can buy 2 or 3 tablets with batter quality.
basa basa din, LTE version ito, 36K for credit card, 32K for cash. mag intay kayo ng wifi version sa august. di na kau nasanay sa presyong sony saka feel ko i oofer ito for telecom. must better to wait for the wifi
To Sony: Mag-basa po kayo ng mga comments ng mga Yugatech readers dito! Good luck selling those babies!
Sony has always meant overpriced piece of shit. Even when it comes to TVs I’m no Sony fanatic (give me Philips anytime. Too bad they pulled out of the local market.)
No way sony, with that price I can buy 6 tablets from cherry.
Damn. half the price of it, i can get a nexus 10.
as roiji says. let them price it that way, and lets wait for a year before purchasing this stuff.
i’m sure that by December the prices would have gone down less than 10k of what it’s retailing now :)
Too expensive ! That is why cherry and other re brand tablet are doing very well! Who want to shell out that amount when in a few months a new tablet will be coming out with better features at lower price!
Too expensive, expecting the 16gb wifi to be 23,990 and LTE version to be 29,990.
wow, i don’t think i want to pay 36k just for the privilege of taking a shower with my tablet
27K for the 16 GB Wifi model? Dito sa Australia 20K lang equivalent na price nyan. Considering na mahal ang electronics dito I find that price weird. Maybe 23K pwede pa.
That is way too much! Considering the old displat unlike the new Triluminos display of Sony that this tablet doesn’t even sport! The old processor!
This doesn’t even allow for multi window apps unlike Sony.
THIS IS TOO MUCH. Sony and their delusional prices. But then again I seriously think that this price would decrease immediately.
OMG what more pa kaya the price os teh Z Ultra which I’m eyeing. :|
it’s ok… you wont find any other tablet in the earth which has an outstanding design, monster specs and waterproof body bearing a Sony logo. This is the best looking tablet ever!
For now. But 6 months from now. it will become just an ordinary tablet with sony logo.
YES! 36K is too much!
at cmk its priced at 31,990.
