SSS intros mobile app online payment via BPI

The Philippines’ Social Security System (SSS) has recently announced an easier way of paying contributions with the SSS Mobile App online payment via BPI.

The SSS mobile app now supports online payment via BPI. This enables SSS individual members, including Self-Employed, OFW, and Voluntary members, to pay their contributions easier through BPI. Check out the process below.

1. Generate a Payment Reference Number (PRN) by selecting the appropriate Membership type, applicable period, and chosen monthly contribution.
2. Once a PRN is generated, select ‘Pay’, then choose ‘BPI’ as payment method.
3. After being re-directed to the BPI site, enter your BPI log-in credentials, and select your BPI account for your contribution payment.
4. Enter the One-Time PIN (OTP) sent to your BPI-registered mobile number to proceed. There will be a pop-up message showing the successful payment of the SSS contribution.

Do note that BPI charges PHP 15 convenience fee per transaction. On the other hand, the minimum payment amount is PHP 750. According to SSS, the contributions are now designed to be posted within 24 hours.

I paid SSS via BPI app, last April 13 for my March contribution. Until now it is not reflected on SSS portal.

I paid my April contribution just this week via GCASH, and in a couple of minutes it was already reflected in SSS portal.

Up to this point, my March contribution which I paid via BPI is still not updated

That would have been a great addition, but the SSS app is unable to generate a PRN causing us to miss our quarterly payments.

If you cannot generate Prn in SSS app you can do it on sss website. I’ve done it before. Just open your account on the website.
