TikTok is rallying behind the health care professionals battling the COVID-19 pandemic and is donating $10 million to the cause.
The $10 million will go to the World Health Organization’s Solidarity Response Fund, which sends essential supplies to frontline health care workers, ensures communities have access to the latest official information, and accelerates the discoveries of treatments or vaccines.
Besides the monetary donation, TikTok is also helping the World Health Organization by keeping its community informed. TikTok has hosted live streams with WHO experts with a live Q&A, put up an informational page with tips on safety and prevention, and various resources directly on the app.
TikTok is also advising its users to avoid crowds, maintain proper hygiene, and take care of one another so that the health care workers can focus on helping those who need help the most.
