YouTube Premium subscription prices going up in the PH

Listen to article

YouTube Premium subscription prices are set to increase in the Philippines starting October this year.

The Individual Plan sees a price bump going from PHP 159 to PHP 189 per month. The Family Plan is also affected, going up from PHP 239 to PHP 379.

There are no details yet on whether the Student Plan is going up. For now, it seems it’s staying at PHP 115 monthly.

The adjustment comes from price increases in other countries throughout the year. YouTube has been emailing affected subscribers to inform them of their thoughts behind the decision.

The email notes that the price increase allows the company to improve the platform, while supporting the creators and artists. While an official announcement has yet to be made, readers can confirm their current subscription details.

Simply go to Settings > Purchases and Memberships in the YouTube app. YouTube Premium offers better video quality, ad-free viewing, background and offline playback, and access to YouTube Music.

I would cancel my membership for now. 100+ pesos increase maybe not worth its value.
