HP presents the Office of the Future: Part I

Hewlett-Packard or more famously known as HP invited us to witness its presentation and solutions for their enterprise clients. HP might not be popular among consumers unlike before but their business game is doing better and to keep them moving forward, they have envisioned their ‘Office of the Future’.

There a number of solutions from HP — both hardware and software — to help a business organization utilize technology. During the showcase tour, the IT company presented the available solutions for clients.

HP EliteDisplay S340c and HP Elite x3 Mobile Scanning Solution

Upon entering the ‘Office of the Future’, the reception area will be the first thing a person will encounter. As they say, “first impressions last” that’s why it’s best to keep things tidy and neat with the HP EliteDisplay S340c. This massive 34-inch WQHD curved display with extremely thin bezel and a 21:9 aspect ratio is certainly a looker when placed in the lobby.

Aside from its attractive screen, the EliteDisplay boasts a pop-up webcam that hides when not in use. It’s a feature offices would want to avoid peeping eyes hacking through their network. There’s also four speakers on board tuned by Bang & Olufsen.

Remember the Elite X3? It’s a beastly Windows 10 handset and it’s getting an additional feature thanks to a jacket case. The case has a scanner onboard making the handset a mobile scanning solution. It scans barcodes and QR codes quickly to mobilize vertical workflows for healthcare, field, and retail workers.

HP Elite Slice

After the lobby, let’s get to the meeting room. We must admit when HP pointed out that some precious 5 minutes get lost whenever you’d have to setup your notebook to the screen.

Here’s where the HP Elite Slice enters. It’s a modular and stackable desktop PC that you can place in a meeting together with the Collaboration Cover and Audio Module.

It’ll act a server to the meeting room and anyone in the room can connect to it wirelessly. It also has the Intel Unite software solution making the room a secured collaboration center. Anyone within the premises can connect securely to the Slice and present side-by-side with others.

HP EliteBook x360

The HP Spectre x360 is primarily consumers and it has a business counterpart, the HP EliteBook x360. The two are quite similar in design but the EliteBook is more appropriate for business as HP claims it to be the world’s thinnest and most secure business convertible. It’s got the HP Sure Start Gen3 which is the world’s only self-healing BIOS now with run-time memory protection.

HP sees this product developed for today’s setup. The company pointed out that 70% of Asian employees work from more than one location — we can say that we’re part of that. That’s why convertibles are starting to be a key for millennials and Generation Z with over 60% of them want to have flexibility and mobility as a factor for work.

With more and more people working on the go, privacy will always be a major concern. The EliteBook x360 comes with a what HP calls ‘Sure View’ that activates a privacy mode wherein your screen appears blank and washed-out to everyone but you.

It’s like having a TN panel in a switch of the button. This works well on flights or cafes wherein people just can’t mind their own business.

HP Z2 Mini Workstation

Will you believe that a tiny PC can power up to 6 displays at once? That’s what the HP Z2 Mini Workstation is capable of. It delivers server grade power despite being 90% smaller than traditional business-class towers.

It stands 2.3-inch high and will easily fit on the desk. As pictured above, the Z2 Mini Workstation connects to multiple monitors with CAD software running. It’s got Intel Xeon Processors, NVIDIA Quadro Pro Graphics, and up to 1.5TB HP Z Turbo Drive.

And of course, it’s completely accessible and upgradeable. The top cover gives access to the hard drive and other components for future upgrades and easy cost-efficient repairs.
