Listen to article

Mediatek has announced two new chipsets specifically created for Chromebooks, the MediaTek Kompanio 520 and MediaTek Kompanio 528.

These two compliments the initial release of Kompanio 1380 for premium Chromebook back in January and Kompanio 1300T for tablet computers over a year ago.

The Kompanio 520/528 runs on an octa-core chip, headlined by a dual ARM Cortex-A76 processor (520 runs at 2.0GHz; 528 at 2.2GHz). It also comes with a dual-core GPU and integrated APU, full hD+ display resolution, LPDDR4 RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage.
