Instagram just dropped a major update, the new “Restyle” feature for Stories, powered by Meta AI, letting users transform photos and videos with simple text prompts or preset effects. You can now remove unwanted objects, tweak lighting, or completely change your image’s vibe before posting a Story.

The Restyle icon now appears when editing a Story, where users can type prompts like “Add a crown” or “Make it look cinematic.” Meta AI then generates a new version based on your request. It also comes with ready-made effects for quick makeovers, such as turning your outfit black or applying filters like watercolor or film noir.
Instagram says you can even restyle short clips, adding effects like snow, fire, or underwater visuals to make your stories pop. The feature is rolling out globally for free, bringing AI-driven creativity straight into Instagram’s built-in editor.
