Amazon may launch its satellite internet service, called Project Kuiper (also known as Amazon LEO), in the Philippines as early as this year, according to Henry Aguda. Amazon has been working on Project Kuiper as part of its plan to expand internet access worldwide. Like Starlink, the service aims to use a network of satellites to deliver internet directly to users on the ground. A congressional investigation into the costly, slow, and difficult-to-use internet services in the Philippines is being pushed by lawmakers. 823, which requests the Committee on Information and Communications Technology to evaluate internet service reliability, performance metrics, pricing structures, and user privacy safeguards.
