Telegram has launched a dedicated app for Wear OS smartwatches, bringing full chat access, voice messages, and chat management tools directly to users' wrists. The new Wear OS app also marks Telegram's return to Google's smartwatch platform after removing its previous Wear OS app from the Play Store in 2021. The launch expands Telegram's support for wearable devices and gives Wear OS users another way to stay connected without relying entirely on their phones. The Telegram Wear OS app is now available for supported smartwatches running Google's Wear OS platform. Hoi Lim, a Wearables Developer Advocate at Google, made a post to the Android Wear Developers Google Plus group that Oreo will start rolling out to Android Wear devices starting today. According to Hoi, "Timing is determined by each watch’s manufacturer" so we'll just have to wait for official statements from Android Wear manufacturers. Misfit's latest wearable, which was first unveiled in January at CES 2017, is now announced to have Android Wear 2.0 rather than a proprietary platform. The Misfit Vapor is part of Fossil Group's plan to release more than 300 smartwatches in 2017 with this wearable slated for store shelves in "late summer".
