Canon yesterday announced a new dSLR camera in its Rebel series -- the EOS 1000D. Its release was aimed to replace the old Canon EOS 400D XTi which first came out in August of 2006. Two of the top 3 Android smartphones, the Ideos X5 and X3, as well as the Ideos S7 Slim (predecessor of the MediaPad). The Ideos X3 is the nicest-looking of them all, and reminds me of the HTC Wildfire, with its very thin frame of just 9.9mm. Canon organized a whole-day affair to celebrate the Philippine release of over 30 products in their line, including the much awaited EOS 5D, 50D and 1000D. I got some shots and price list below: The Canon EOS 5D Mark II came out sometime last week -- boasts of a 21.1 megapixel full-frame 35mm CMOS sensor, DIGIC IV. The Canon EOS 50D on the other hand was first announced last August (see specs here) -- has a 15.1 megapixel sensor and an ISO of up to 12800. Those looking into the entry-level dSLR might wanna check the EOS 1000D, a 10.1 MP dSLR very similar in form with the EOS 450D.
