What is the time limit for free Google Meet group calls?

As of October 2022, group meetings on the free tier of Google Meet with more than three participants are limited to one hour. One-on-one meetings can still last up to 24 hours. This limit was re-implemented starting in October 2022, having been previously extended during the pandemic.

Can I unmute myself in Google Meet using the spacebar like in Zoom?

Yes. Starting with a rollout from September 9, 2022, Google Meet introduced a push-to-talk feature. By holding down the spacebar, you can temporarily unmute yourself, and releasing it mutes you again. This feature is off by default but can be enabled in Google Meet's settings.
