Google Nexus 5

The Google Nexus 5 featured a 4.95-inch 1080p IPS LCD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 2.3GHz quad-core processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB or 32GB of storage. It had an 8-megapixel rear camera with OIS and LED flash, a 1.2MP front camera, a 2300mAh battery, and launched with Android 4.4 KitKat.

The Nexus 5 was priced at $349 for the 16GB model and $399 for the 32GB model on the US Google Play Store (approximately PHP 15,000 to 17,000 at the time). However, the Play Store was not available in the Philippines. The device was sold locally at a higher price, available through Smart telecom and likely through LG retail stores or the gray market, with the previous Nexus 4 having retailed for around PHP 24,000.

The Nexus 5 received several major Android updates. It launched with Android 4.4 KitKat, received an update to Android 4.4.3 in April 2014, a major update to Android 5.0 Lollipop in late 2014 introducing Material Design, and finally Android 5.1 Lollipop in April 2015, which added features like Device Protection and improved quick settings.
