Ookla has released their Speedtest Global Index for July 2021, revealing the Philippines’ average mobile internet download speed is at 33.69 Mbps, while the average fixed broadband download speed is at 71.17 Mbps. Leading the ranking for July 2021 in Mobile is UAE, with an average of 190.03 Mbps. Ookla’s analysis of Speedtest Intelligence data for Q1–Q2 2025 showed Smart posting a median latency of 45.89 milliseconds across all mobile technologies, allowing users to tap, swipe, and interact with apps with minimal delay. Ookla has announced the winners of its Speedtest Awards with PLDT and Smart being the fastest fixed network and fastest mobile network, respectively, in the Philippines for Q3-Q4 2018. Smart and PLDT are the Philippines' Speedtest Awards winners for the fastest 5G mobile and fixed broadband speed during Q3–Q4 2021, according to Ookla. Ookla compared 325,396 user-initiated 5G tests taken on the Speedtest iOS and Android mobile apps from all the major mobile carriers in the Philippines during the award period to determine who showed the fastest mobile network speeds.
