Frequently Asked Questions

How can I get a PSA birth, marriage, or death certificate online?

You can request PSA-issued certificates like birth, marriage, death, CENOMAR, and CENODEATH online through the official PSA Serbilis website. After processing, you will receive a unique reference code to securely view the certificate online. Fees are Php 130 each for birth, marriage, and death certificates, and Php 185 for CENOMAR and CENODEATH. You can also use the DocPrint service to have the document printed at a designated Civil Registry System outlet.

What is the ePhilID and how do I claim it?

The ePhilID is a digital version of the National ID (PhilID) that serves as a valid government-issued identification while you wait for the physical card. To claim the printed ePhilID, you need your transaction slip from Step 2 registration, which contains a 29-digit reference number. You must book an appointment via the PhilSys website, enter your details, choose a pickup location, and present the appointment slip on the scheduled date. The printed ePhilID can be verified using the PhilSys Check website.

Do PSA birth, marriage, and death certificates expire?

No. A law enacted in July 2022 grants permanent validity to PSA-issued birth, death, and marriage certificates, as well as those from Local Civil Registries and Philippine Foreign Service Posts. These documents must be accepted in all government and private transactions, provided they remain intact, readable, and retain their security features. It is prohibited for any entity to require a newer copy if a valid one is already presented.
