Samsung and AMD have just announced a multi-year partnership to bring AMD's Radeon graphics IP to mobile. In turn, Samsung will pay AMD license fees and royalties to access the RDNA graphics architecture and use it in mobile devices, smartphones, and other products that the AMD platform is used on. It's highly likely that the RDNA architecture will replace the Mali GPUs Samsung is using together with its Exynos chips. Lisa Su stated: “Adoption of our Radeon graphics technologies across the PC, game console, cloud and HPC markets has grown significantly and we are thrilled to now partner with industry leader Samsung to accelerate graphics innovation in the mobile market.
