Samsung may bring a camera feature from the upcoming Galaxy S26 series to older Galaxy S25 devices through a software update. Since Virtual Aperture works through software, it may be possible to add it to existing devices through an update instead of new hardware. Samsung’s upcoming One UI 8.5, based on Android 16 QPR2, will be the final major feature update for several older Galaxy devices, though they’ll continue receiving security patches for some time. Samsung is continuing to roll out the One UI 8 as the company starts to update more devices with the operating system. It looks like Samsung is continuing to roll out the One UI 8 update to their other Galaxy devices. Samsung is set to officially roll out the One UI 8 in September starting with the Galaxy S25 series with other devices receiving the update shortly after. Samsung is accelerating its software update game, rolling out the much-anticipated One UI 7 update based on Android 15 to several popular Galaxy models, including the Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy S22 series, and Galaxy S21 series. While older than the S24 and S22 lines, the S21 series continues to enjoy strong software support, a testament to Samsung’s growing commitment to long-term device updates.
