Monetization on Shorts More than 80% of creators are under the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) by meeting the Shorts eligibility criteria. As YouTube Partners, creators can access BrandConnect, linking them with opportunities for branded content campaigns. It was announced during YouTube’s Made on event that the YouTube Partner Program which originally caters to Content Creators that made long-form videos in the standard horizontal format is now being expanded to other creators who are Shorts-focused. The eligibility for a Creator who is Shorts-focus can join the YouTube Partner Program by having at least 1,000 subscribers and 10M valid public Shorts view in the last 90 days. To combat that abuse and to protect original creators, YouTube is increasing the thresholds required to join the YouTube Partner Program (YPP). "In a few weeks, we’ll also be adding a review process for new creators who apply to be in the YouTube Partner Program. The partnership also supports DICT’s “Trabahong Digital” program, which aims to create 8 million digital jobs by 2028.
