Lenovo K91 is 1st Android 4.0 ICS Smart TV

Lenovo is joining the Smart TV market and surprised us by announcing the very first Android 4.0 ICS powered LED TV at CES 2012 — the Lenovo K91.

The Lenovo K91 will be powered by a Qualcomm 8060 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storages, 2GB of SD card running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The high-end model will be at 55-inches while a 42-inch variant will also be available.

Lenovo says it will initially release the Android TV in China with no work as to when it will ship it to the rest of the world.

Along with the K91, Lenovo also announced its 2nd-generation IdeaTab S2 with 20 hours of battery life.

The experience won’t be very androidish if the navigation of the UI will be through a remote control..if it’s given that the screen is not touch-enabled.

I also wonder how the current apps will look like with the giant resolution.

I hope the remote control properly replicates a touch experience with little lag/delay. Something along the lines of a WiiMote or two-WiiMotes linked to each other for multi-touch functions.

I’m sure the price for this smart TV will be high. Samsung will most probably release a newer Smart TV this year.

How about a 55″ touchscreen smart TV? hehehe
