Huawei’s tri-folding phone ‘Mate XT’ hands-on image leaks; Sep. 10 launch confirmed

Listen to article

Huawei recently confirmed that they’ll soon be launching a tri-folding device, namely the HUAWEI Mate XT in China on September 10 at 2:30 PM (local time).

That is just several hours away from Apple’s launch event also on September 10 but earlier at 1:00 AM (local time).

Huawei Mate Xt Leak Hands On Image

With just a week before their respective releases, a new leak reveals the purported design of the HUAWEI Mate XT at least on one of its sides.

On Weibo, a user shared a hands-on image of the Mate XT showing its side profile (folded) as well as its pricing details. As seen in the photo, one of the folding mechanisms is relatively thinner than the other.

The camera bump protrudes quite significantly, and it looks to be circular in shape just like previous Mate devices.

Per the tipster, the 16GB+512GB variant goes for CNY 16,888, or a whopping Php134K in today’s rates (excluding taxes and duties).

The spec sheet is still kept under wraps, but the Mate XT is expected to sport a 10-inch inner display, two inward screens, and one outward screen on its dual-hinge system.

Under the hood, it will likely deploy a Kirin 9000 Series chipset and should bring some nifty AI features.
